Actors occasionally speak with, or more accurately speak at, and interact with the front 3 rows, though a response is never warranted. It's only for heightened immersion and is never dependent on the audience for a scene to progress. No 'one is ever singled out.

​Actors often go into the aisles, and occupy the space between the stage on the front row.
